Ask. Great. Questions.

High-performing leaders and their organizations realize that the key to success is to continually ask better questions. This is difficult to do and requires a culture that embraces a Socratic process, and perhaps most importantly, cultivates the humility to welcome being wrong as part of the quest to be less wrong. Why it is important – in a rapidly changing environment, we must continually challenge our own assumptions by asking tough questions. If we don’t we are likely to make poor decisions because our mental maps have become outdated.

  1. Excellent point. To support, we need organizations to promote an environment of psychosocial safety where we de-criminalize failure. With reward first came an element of risk. Let’s transform from fear-driven decision making to solution-focused….which starts with asking questions, lots of them!
